The Dental Council Subcommittee evaluates the Bachelor of Dental Surgery program at the Walailak University International College of Dentistry
Friday, May 23, 2025 – The Dental Council Curriculum Review Subcommittee has conducted an evaluation of the Bachelor of Dentistry program of the Walailak University International College of Dentistry to examine and certify the standards of dental education at the undergraduate level to ensure compliance with the criteria set by the Dental Council
This assessment covers several key areas, including faculty quality, curriculum and teaching content, learning facilities such as laboratories, dental equipment and dental clinics, as well as teaching and learning processes and student learning outcomes
Dr. Sirirak Nakhonchai, Chair of the Dental Council’s Curriculum Review Subcommittee, stated, “Reviewing the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BD) curriculum is an important mission of the Dental Council. It aims to ensure that educational institutions produce quality dentists for society. Today’s evaluation serves as an exchange of information and ideas to develop a modern curriculum that aligns with advances in academics and medical technology, and effectively addresses the oral health needs of the public
Associate Professor Dr. Poonsak Pisek, Dean of Walailak University’s International College of Dentistry, expressed his congratulations on the honor of being included in this assessment and reaffirmed the institution’s readiness to provide information and fully cooperate with the subcommittee to ensure the assessment proceeds smoothly and achieves its intended objectives
The evaluation results from the Dental Council’s Curriculum Review Subcommittee will be considered for curriculum accreditation and recommendations for development and improvement. This will ensure that Walailak University’s Bachelor of Dentistry (BD) curriculum meets international standards and can produce quality dentists to serve society sustainably
The curriculum assessment by the Dental Council is an important mechanism for controlling the quality of dental education, for the maximum benefit of the public consuming dental services, and to build confidence in the dental profession in Thailand
