Walailak University International College of Dentistry Students Win 3 Awards for "Gingiva Scan" Innovation at Southern Innovation Festival 2026.

The International College of Dentistry, Walailak University (WUICD), extends its warmest congratulations to Ms. Chantaras Siriprasert and Ms. Natriya Kongsuwan for their outstanding success at the Southern Innovation Festival 2026. The event was held from July 6–8, 2026, at Thaksin University, Songkhla.

The students showcased their innovative project, “Gingiva Scan”—a non-invasive screening device for gingivitis risk. This breakthrough innovation was developed under the supervision and strategic guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Poonsak Pisek, Dean of the International College of Dentistry.

The “Gingiva Scan” project achieved exceptional recognition, securing three major awards at the competition:

  • Special Award presented by the Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (Southern Chapter)

  • Special Award from The Best Cosmetic Co., Ltd.

  • Bronze Medal in the Higher Education Invention and Innovation Competition (Health and Medical Category)
